A State of Being
According to Medical news today, Mental health refers to our cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being. It is all about how we think, how we feel, and how we behave. The term ‘mental health‘ is sometimes used to mean an absence of a mental disorder.
As this week recognizes Mental health 6 October-12 October, I think it’s important to remind one another that we are all human and each one of us has our own struggles. I have my issues, and I will start to open up to you all about this as I want you to know the real me; that was the whole basis to start this blog.
I want you to know that you’re not alone. If I or my blog can be a place that you can find comfort in owning who you are and acknowledging where you are at in your life, then please find support in knowing that I am here for you. If you or any of your friends are experiencing any of the following symptoms, please reach out to someone who can help.
Symptoms include:
- Detachment from reality
- Unable to cope with daily situations
- Unusual eating patterns
- Turning to drugs or alcohol to ‘escape’
- Unusual mood changes
- Tiredness
- Withdrawal from social situations
- Suicidal thoughts
I believe it is essential to be kind and respectful towards others but i’d like to highlight the importance of being all of those (mentioned above) to yourself. Life is no easy feat, however, there are steps you can take to help get you up in the morning. Be kind to yourself and acknowledge the progress you have made.
Remind yourself how strong you are. Remind yourself that you are good enough and that you, too, deserve happiness.
Sending all my love to those who need it most, and please remember you are not alone.
